December 2014 Update
After more than a decade of effort and two years of construction, the Out Valley Electrical Line has been energized. Kirkwood is officially connected to he grid via the 115kV line from Salt Springs to our KM Green substation, and the 34.5kV section, which runs from the KM Green Substation all the way to Kirkwood. A transformer located at the KM Blue substation converts the 34.5kV power to the 12kV for electrical distribution in the valley.
