Revised Water Stage Alert System Approved March 8, 2014

Posted on March 14, 2014

Due to the current drought conditions, the KMPUD Board of Directors approved the Revised Water Stage Alert System at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on March 8, 2014.  To learn more about the Water Stage Alert System please click here.

On January 17th, Governor Brown declared a State of Emergency due to current drought conditions in the entire state of California, urging all Californians to reduce their water use by 20% and directing people to the Save Our Water website, for ways to conserve.

With the minimal snowfall this winter season,  the Kirkwood Meadows Public Utility District (District) is concerned with our aquifer levels should the dry conditions persist.

We are currently in a Stage 1 Alert.

The District will keep you informed of our water supply situation and of any change in our Water Stage Alert status. We all need to look at the water situation seriously and practice water conservation where and when we can.  This notice is to encourage you to plan ahead, conserve and use water wisely.
